Accredited calibration service in Lahti

The Tamtron group includes a FINAS-accredited* mass and scale laboratory (K019) located in Lahti.

Scopes of accreditation:

  • Non-automatic weighing instruments (scales/balances): 1 mg – 100 t
  • Mass (weights): 1 mg – 2000 kg

* Details of our activities within the accredited scope of competence can be found on the FINAS website.

Calibrations performed by the FINAS-audited laboratory meet all mandatory quality requirements for measurement management. The K019 laboratory operates in accordance with the SFS–ISO/IEC 17025 standard and forms part of Tamtron’s ISO 9001 quality management system.

Our accredited services are trusted by companies across multiple industries, including pharmaceuticals, forestry, paper, and food production, as well as by laboratory service providers.

In Lahti premises, we also perform accredited calibrations for tension- and compression load cells and crane scales up to 10 tonnes. The facility also carries out accredited field calibrations for various axle-load and wheel-load scales.

Test/calibration weights are calibrated under accreditation in Lahti premises. During field calibrations, non-accredited weight inspections can also be provided when needed.

Note: The accredited quantity of the K019 mass and scale laboratory is mass. Accredited calibration can only be performed on instruments that use the kilogram [kg] or its multiples/submultiples (e.g., mg, g, t).

Accredited calibration guarantees

  • verified expertise and competence of calibration personnel
  • traceable results to national and international standards
  • documented measurement uncertainty on the calibration certificate

Benefits of Tamtron’s accredited calibration service

  • Regulatory-compliant calibrations: Tamtron’s K019 mass and scale laboratory fully meets SFS–ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
  • Timely and reliable service: As a calibration partner, Tamtron ensures that your scales are calibrated regularly, professionally, and on schedule.
  • Comprehensive documentation: Our calibration certificates include all necessary information—no additional statements on reliability or traceability are required.

Contract-based calibration – a simple way to ensure accuracy

Contract-based calibration is a partnership model designed for seamless expert-to-expert collaboration. This allows both parties to focus on their core operations while ensuring reliable measurement performance. All procedures follow an agreed service plan, and Tamtron arranges a suitable calibration schedule together with the customer. A Tamtron specialist performs the calibration and delivers a certificate containing all required information and supporting documents.

Scale maintenance performed together with calibration

Proper maintenance is crucial to ensuring the long-term reliability of weighing instruments. Faults causing inaccurate measurements are not always visible in measurement results or during regular operation. Maintenance carried out in connection with calibration ensures that the scale functions correctly and without faults before the calibration process begins.
